While this is a personal journey, one of our first tips for online learning is to discover how to connect with other students on your course.

2. Get Connected

When you are starting your online learning journey with The Career Academy, there are likely many other students who are taking their first steps into further education alongside you.

When you enrol with us, whether you are studying accounting, dog grooming, psychology, or one of our other great topics, you will have free access to an online student forum specific to your course.

This is a safe space that you can easily access through the Totara learning portal, where people just like you can chat about what is happening as they progress through the different sections of the course.

This is a great way to get a fresh perspective if you get stuck, and it’s always nice to connect with people who are interested in the same things you are – you may even make a new friend!

3. Ask For Help

Another one of our tips for online learning is to make sure you ask for help when you need it. The Career Academy has an amazing set-up when it comes to tutor support, so you should never feel like you are stuck at a roadblock.

Many of our tutors have worked in the industry they teach about and are all highly knowledgeable. At The Career Academy, we make it simple for our students to get the support they need; you can even phone your tutor directly for help and advice during office hours!

All tutors are available via email and phone, and you can count on our friendly staff to meet your enquiry with a patient and helpful response.

4. Pace Yourself

Once you have access to your course materials, there are a few tips for online learning that could prove useful and may ensure you get the best result possible.

While you are free to start your course whenever you like after your enrolment is confirmed, there are ways to approach study which will ensure you don’t end up in a tricky situation the day your last submission is due.

Our courses are designed so that you should have a smooth finish if you aim to complete one module per week. If your schedule dictates that you must approach your course differently, that’s okay, and some people work better under pressure!

The important thing is to reach out to us if you feel like you may be getting into difficulty, we are here to help, and there is an extension process that you can access if you find yourself in difficulty.

5. Switch It Up!

At The Career Academy, we like to be certain that you have chosen the right course for your needs. So one of our tips for online learning is to check it out in case you need to switch it up.

This means that once you have all your course materials, we suggest you take a bit of a deep dive into the subject you have chosen just to double-check check you want to proceed with your course.

We have a wide variety of courses across some great subjects, so if you find the one you have chosen is not quite the right fit, we allow an 8-day cooling-off period. You can contact us over this timeframe, and we can switch you to another course, or if your circumstances have changed, we can provide a refund.
