AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting

Tracey is a people person with impressive juggling skills. Like many of The Career Academy’s students, she’s a working mum balancing her job and her family.

In her previous role as an office manager at one of Lion Nathan’s Auckland establishments for seven years, she was responsible for all manner of financial duties (incl. payroll, and accounts payable & receivable.) She later backed up these skills with a Bachelor of Business from Massey.

Although she’s a proficient “number cruncher” it’s working with her students which Tracey enjoys the most. Seeing when a student really “gets it,” when their confidence soars or when they’re able to secure that new role – these are things that she loves.

I obtained a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Accounting from Waikato Institute of Technology. During my time studying, I mentored several international students in a range of topics including commercial law, marketing, accounting & finance. Not only did this give me lots of energy watching my students grow, it also deepened my understanding of these topics as well as how to relate to people.

It is no surprise that I came to The Career Academy – with a teacher for a mother, it’s just in my blood.

Outside of work, I like to relax by playing football with my teenage sons, dance to Baila music, read, or cook delicious meals with my wife.

Dessa is a seasoned accounting teacher with ten years of experience teaching at the university level and holds a master’s degree in business administration. She has worked as a Certified Public Accountant giving her a strong foundation in real-world financial operations and reporting. She is passionate about empowering students with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in their academic and professional careers. Away from work, Dessa enjoys staying active at the gym, attending Zumba classes, and spending quality time with her husband and daughter.

As the Accounting & Bookkeeping Tutor at The Career Academy, Erika is responsible for supporting and assessing student’s education in gaining competency in the accounting and management field. The Career Academy’s vision is to deliver an exceptional online experience, and she contributes to this by offering student support while fostering positive, harmonious relationships.

She is driven by a passion for continuous learning and a desire to make a difference. She loves impactful work, especially when it involves sharing her knowledge and experience with others.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in accountancy in the Philippines and obtained my License as a Certified Public Accountant.

In my downtime, I immerse myself in the enchanting worlds of fantasy novels, losing myself in captivating tales and magical realms.

A competent Certified Public Accountant (CPA) who is currently shaping minds as an Accounting and Bookkeeping Tutor at TCA. He is more than willing to help students in their studies as they go through a journey of acquiring new skills, exploring uncharted territories of knowledge, and building improved career pathways. Saharah radiates positivity and charm with her naturally bubbly personality and effortlessly light-hearted approach. With a found appreciation for knowledge and education, viewing them as essential pillars of personal and professional development. Saharah’s dedication to staying informed and cultivating a well-rounded perspective not only enriches her own life but also positively influences those around them, fostering a culture of curiosity and intellectual exploration.

With a Bachelor of Commerce and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management and Public Administration, Kris has spent over a decade working across the Pacific and New Zealand.

From managing million-dollar budgets to leading HR and tender operations, his hands-on expertise spans Xero accounting, payroll, procurement, and business management. As a Xero Advisor and Xero Payroll Certified professional, Kris is passionate about sharing real-world insights with students and empowering them to succeed in their own career journeys.

Outside the virtual classroom, Kris enjoys watching movies, series, documentaries and values lifelong learning as there is always something new to learn.
